| Announcements Find out more about West Oahu Christian Church by attending the Introduction to West Oahu Christian Church classes on September 5 and September 12. It will be held during the Sunday School hour from 9:15 AM to 10:15 AM. If you would like to attend this class, please contact Pastor Stan. If you are interested but cannot make the Sunday School class hour, let Pastor Stan know and individual sessions can be arranged. There is a stepper exercise machine and a stroller being given away. If you would like to have it, they are in room 1. The Children's Church will be enjoying a swimming activity at the Waipahu Y on August 29. A picnic dinner with campfire style singing and "smores" will follow, back at the church. This year's Labor Day Picnic will once again be a joint event with Honolulu Christian Church at Manoa Park on Monday, September 6, from 9:00 to 2:00. It will be a great day of fellowship and relaxation. See bulletin board to sign up or see Tena Ponder if you have questions. The 2010 Church Directory is available on the resource table. The Board of Trustees for 2010-2011 are: President, Dennis Nagatani; Vice President, Sam Tanji; Finance, Nancy Murakami; Auditor, Dennis Nagatani and Sam Tanji; Building, Charles Nako; Secretary, Joan Doi; and Pastor Stan. | Reminders We now have a Nursery Cry Room in which parents of young children can view the service without having to feel self conscious. It is located next to the library/office. The Family Worship Area in the Sanctuary is still available for parents of small children. Church Cleaning Plan: Thanks so much to all who have been helping to clean. The facility is looking better! Just to clarify, there are new and separate sign-up sheets for each month. Mahalo! Volunteers are needed to help with beautifying the sanctuary for a more enjoyable worship experience. Please consider donating flowers either from your yard or purchased to enhance the service. Vases are available at church and if you wish, flower arrangers can be scheduled to assist. A sign-up sheet is posted on the bulletin board. If you have any questions, please see Daniel Miyamoto, Worship Chair. Calling all handymen (and women). God needs you at WOCC! We are developing a team of people with abilities in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, masonry, mechanics, glass, metals, gardening, painting ... just about anything. This team will be called upon to help keep our facilities in good working order and to do upgrades now and then. If God has blessed you with these types of skills and you would like to help out, please see Pastor Stan so that your name can be added to the list. How are you doing in your Bible reading? The main thing is don't stress over it. Just approach it with a heart of love for the living and present God. If you have any questions on anything you have read, please write them down and put it in Pastor Stan's box. Prayer Requests Please continue to keep Rev. Nakamura, Charlie Nako & Sharon Horita in your prayers as they continue to heal and recover from their surgeries. Please pray for healing and encouragement for them and their family.
